No WR for Bekele, but 3 WL marks

STOCKHOLM: Home sell-out crowds were for sure happy because all swedish stars won their events at the IAAF Permit Meet GE Galan in famous Globen Arena. Susanna Kallur at 60mH, Christian Olsson in TJ did not had too tough opposition. Stefan Holm had his 101st competition over 230 and won with 233 over Thornblad and Rybakov. It looks like the only name who could challenge him in Birmingham will be the russian Ivan Ukhov. Czech Tomas Janku did not jumped because he felt his hamstring. Johan Wissman won the 400 m and Carolina Kluft despite poor hurdles the triathlon. Second was Goteborg silver medallist Karin Ruckstuhl from Holland and third young Czech talent Denisa Scerbova who was very good at 60mH and achieved new best at 400 m. If she would have go over 179 in high jump she would be the winner. She is still undecided whether to contest pentathlon or long jump in Birmingham. Finally also Kajsa Bergqvist got her revenge over Hellebaut, Vlasic and Slesarenko and won in new season best of 198 cm. Kenenisa Bekele missed the world record clearly but achieved at least one of the three world leading marks of the evening and new personal best 7:30.51 at 3000 m. World indoor champion Wilfred Bungei from Kenya registered the second WL at 800 m with 1:45.42 before Morrocan Amine Laalou with his indoor best 1:45.96. Third placed Bram Som (1:46.12) got the european leading position of the season. Poland´s Lidia Chojecka got the third world lead of the day at 1500 m with 4:03.73. She just barely missed her national record 4:03.58 from 2003. Great men´s 1500 m race was dominated by Augustin Choge who again bettered his indoor best to 3:33.79 and only by 0.10 missed the seasonal best of Daniel Kipchirchir Komen who finished second. Czech jumpers dominated the pole vault – Pavla Rybova and Katerina Badurova went over 458 in first and both tried three times new national record of 468. The decisive moment happened at 448 as Badurova achieved that mark only in second try (and had a miss also at 417 cm). Cuban Dayron Robles did not had too tough oppositon and won the 60 mH with nice margin 0.13 s.
