Badurova beats Rybova

PRAHA (CZE, Feb 24): Katerina Badurova jumped 455 in first and that was enough for czech national indoor title in Prague „Otakar Jandera Hall“. At first day of national championships her duel with former world and european indoor champion Pavla Rybova was the highlight. Rybova was leading because she jumped 440 in first and Badurova saved her life with third attempt at 435. Then Badurova jumped 445, but Rybova was able to go over 450. Again Badurova was over 455 and as Rybova did not made 460 the first place decision was clear. After that Badurova tried for new national record 466 cm. All of the jumps were not bad at all. Both Czech girls are ready to attack high positions in Birmingham. In the men pole vault contest Adam Ptacek managed 549 and tried for 570. Junior Jan Kudlicka bettered his own national record of that category by 1 cm to 543 cm. Decathlon world record holder Roman Sebrle confirmed that his shape is growing. He did 483 in pole vault and 8.06 in the hurdles and was satisfied. Petr Svoboda won the 60mHurdles in 7.77, but was faster in heats with 7.74. He had some touches during the finals with Stanislav Sajdok who did not achieved the standard for Birmingham (7.77). He changed his steps into first hurdle with new coach Jan Pospisil and hopes for improvement in the summer. Lucie Martincova bettered her seasonal best at 60 mHurdles to 8.15 and missed the standard for Birmingham by just 0.01 s. She hopes to be selected with a wild card.
