GERMANY: 4x400 m relay instead of Korinna Fink, Jana Hartmann was named

POLAND: Out are male high jumper Bieniek and Bejnar for female 4x400 m, newly included are Karpiesiuk (400 m women), Starzak (LJ) and Majewski (SP). Questionmark remains about injury status of Dabrowski (400 m).

SPAIN: European Champion Marta Dominguez was added to the team and will be running 3000 m. Mayte Martinez will not run 800 m, but 1500 m. Fuentes-Pila sisters changed the events too. Iris goes for 3000 m and Zulema for 1500 m, the third Margarita remains at 800 m. Former champion Glory Alozie (60mH) is no more in the squad due to injury. Also Felipe Vivancos is out from 60mHurdles with the same problem.

US Conference Championships

SEC
LEXINGTON: Jamaican talent Kerron Stewart was the star, she achieved second fastest time of the year 7.14 at 60 m (second Courtney Champion is the new US leader 7.15). At 200 m using the long 291 m track she clocked 22.46 one of the fastest time ever at any track. World junior champion 2004 Natasha Hastings also used this track to excellent 51.38. Jessica Ohanaja completed this conference fast female sprinting with new 60mH best 8.03. On men side Rubin Williams ran the 200 m 20.57, what is the fastest time of the year although at oversized track. Reginald Dardar was the best at 400 m (46.11) and two bests were set by top two at 60mH John Yarbrough (7.67) and Ty Akins (7.68). Surprise top two at 60 m were Jeremy Hall and Trinidad´s Richard Thompson, both 6.64

BIG 10 (MEN)
BLOOMINGTON: Demi Omole as expected won the 60 m (6.63). Aaron Buzard was the best at 400 m (46.64), but a super time was registered by Garolgwane Masheto from Botswana at 600 m. His 1:16.28 is the 12th best of all-time. His best at 400 m is so far 46.20 since 2005.

ACC
CLEMSON: Jacoby Ford was even faster in the 60 m finals. He clocked 6.52 after heat in 6.53.

MAC
AKRON: Marc Johnson won the 60 m in 6.67 and Scott Mayle achieved new long jump best 795 cm.

BIG 12
AMES: Reggie Witherspoon scored a nice combo 200 m in 20.73 and 400 m in 45.91, but helped by 300 m long track. Simone Facey from Jamaica got on the women side 23.26 at 200 m. Marcus Pugh got the 60 (6.68) and Marlon Odom the hurdles (7.77). Very solid double by Kenyan Sally Kipyego (mile 4:38.18 and 3000 m 9:11.41). In technical events Andra Mason went again over 230 in high jump (second Scott Sellers 227) and Donovan Kilmartin scored 5870 points in heptathlon.

MWC
ALBUQUERQUE: St. Kitts sprinters dominated this conference. Delwayne Delaney won the men 60 m in 6.68 and Virgil Hodge the women section in 7.37 (she did 7.31 in heats, new NR). She then won also the 200 m in 23.27.

HEPS
NEW YORK: At Armory Erison Hurtault clocked excellent 46.34 new best at 400 m. His outdoor best is 46.12 and it looks when the outdoor campaign will start he will be soon under 46 barrier.

Other briefs

TERRE VERDIANE (ITA): Marathon was won by Kenyan Joshua Kipchumba Rop 2:16:29. Best woman was Italian Ilaria Bianchi 2:37:06.

PORI (FIN): At Finnish winter throwing champs Kirsi Ahonen got a good javelin mark 58.03 and beat more experienced Taina Kolkkala (57.94).

BRYANSK (RUS): At indoor Samotesov memorial as Tilastopaja says the Birmingham contender and Russian champion Yevgeniya Polyakova showed good shape achieving hand timed 7.0 at 60 m.

KINGSTON (JAM): At Gibson Relays MVP teams of coach Steven Francis had mixed fortunes. Women won both relays 4x100 m 43.28 and 4x400 m 3:30.78 and were running the short one in composition: Pillay,RSA, Simpson, S. Williams, Foster-Hylton and the longer one: Cunningham, Simpson, Foster-Hylton, S. Williams. World Cup relay winner Williams also bettered her 100 m best to 11.36. After heat of 38.97 the men of MVP dnf the final in composition – A. Powell, Frater, D. Brown(TRI), Waugh. As IAAF informs the last exchange between Brown and Waugh failed. The win went to another international squad composed by Jamaicans and Daniel Bailey from Antigua in 38.70 (Barrett, Bailey, X. Brown, Bolt). At 4x400 m MVP team was second 3:09.71 (Powell did his part in 46.5) behind another team with Bolt and time 3:06.82.

In the 100 m Nestar Carter equalled his best 10.20 and in second race Bailey from Antigua clocked 10.27. Former Jamaican and now GBR athlete Germaine Mason jumped 210 in the high. Cuban junior Aymee Martinez got a new national record of that category at 400 m in 51.93.

MONTE CARLO: IAAF informs about end of evaluation visits to Brisbane and Daegu. Now the team headed by German IAAF vice president Helmut Digel will write the report for council members who will decide about the host cities of World Championships 2011 and 2013. The decision will be made on March 27 in Mombasa, Kenya. Digel said after his return to Europe that all bidding cities are capable to stage the event at required level.
