Alekna over 70 metres VILNIUS (LTU, Apr 18): At todays Vilnius City Championships in throwing events the world best discus thrower Virgilijus Alekna started the season with a 70 metres throw. In fourth series he got 70.01 m what is his 14th competition of the career with 70 m plus result. Nobody else in discus history has such a number. He started with world lead 69.60, then achieved 69.49 and 66.09 before the best throw. Last two attempts were fouls.
